Our Security Pack

It is not possible to take out the LuxCamp Security Pack anymore, but the below information is for those who have booked it over the past year.

Our travel recommendation

The security package reimburses your paid travel sum if you cancel no later than 60 days before your due arrival date. Don't forget to take out additional travel insurance which, apart from luggage, also covers the costs of e.g. an accident, illness and/or repatriation during your holiday.

How am I insured with the Security Pack?

You can cancel - without giving any reason - up to 60 days before arrival. In that case no cancellation fee will be charged

In the event of acute illness, you can cancel in writing up until 12 noon on the day before arrival. A doctor's certificate must be presented.

In both cases you will only pay the deductible excess of 10% plus the costs of the Security Pack.

The booking can be changed without amendment fee until 2 weeks prior to arrival. Any extra costs that the provider charges as a result of the change are to be borne by the traveller.

What does the Security Pack cost?

  • 2% of the total travel sum

How am I covered?

The Security Pack allows you to cancel your holiday booking, due to illness, serious injury or death, up until 12 noon one day prior to your arrival date.

The insurance covers:

  • Family members in the first or second degree (parents, children, brothers/sisters, grandparents, parents-in-law, stepchildren).
  • A partner to whom you are married or have a cohabitation contract.

In case of illness, you must provide a doctor's certificate. The certificate must be received by us within 7 days of the cancellation request. Any costs for this certificate are for your own account. LuxCamp reserves the right to have a further examination carried out by its own doctor in case of doubt.

Persons over the age of 75 and persons with chronic diseases do not qualify for the Security Pack.

Pregnancy and its consequences are not considered as illness. Epidemic or pandemic diseases are not covered by the Security Pack.

Medical costs and any material damage caused during the trip are not covered.

The LuxCamp Security Pack must be added before the first payment. It only covers the cancellation of your trip before your arrival. In the event of an anticipated return due to illness, accidents, epidemics, natural disasters or local political unrest, the Security Pack cannot be used.

Should you wish to cancel your trip because you have found a more favourable offer on our website, please note that no new holiday may be booked within the first 48 hours.

More detailed description

The Security Pack, which can be added separately, is 2% of the total price of the trip and must be added before the first payment. Covers only cancellation before arrival. This package includes the right to cancel free of charge* until 60 days before arrival, before 12.00 - without documentation - * 10% deductible excess + the paid fee for the Security Pack will not be refunded.

If you cancel the booking for a cheaper accommodation offered online, the new booking can only be booked with the provider after 48 hours. Availability cannot be guaranteed.

Booking changes can be made without rebooking fees up to 14 days before arrival - but if costs arise for our provider in connection with the change, these costs must be paid by the customer. Does not apply cancellation with the purpose of obtaining a cheaper new booking, see above.

Due to documented acute illness a trip can be cancelled up to one day (at 12.00) prior to arrival. The amount paid will be refunded with a deductible excess of 10% of the price and the Security Pack fee paid, if a medical certificate documents that one of the traveler, his spouse, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, parents-in-law, children-in-law dies or is affected by serious accident or serious acute illness.

Persons over 75 years of age and persons with chronic illnesses are not protected by the Security Pack. Pregnancy and its consequences are not considered a disease. Epidemic diseases are not covered by the Security Pack. LuxCamp must be notified immediately of the illness leading to the cancellation. The medical certificate to be completed by the doctor must be in the hands of LuxCamp no later than 7 days after the request.

The costs of the documentation shall be borne by the customer. LuxCamp reserves the right to require further testing by its own doctor.

The Security Pack does not cover premature home travel due to serious illness, accident or unrest. It is therefore a good idea to check whether your private health insurance covers such a situation.

The Security Pack that you can book as an extra with LuxCamp is an additional service, roughly comparable to a manufacturer's guarantee and LuxCamp bears the costs in the event of cancellation. The conditions for this service have been formulated by the tour operator.
