The Krkonose Mountains or Giant Mountains are a great place for a camping holiday in one with nature. The mountain range offers everything from waterfalls and hiking trails to bobsleigh rides and city tours. It's easy to take a full-day trip to the capital Prague and bring all the Czech holiday experiences home with you. Explore Krkonose National Park on hiking or cycling tours, where the whole family can join in to discover the Czech Republic's highest point, waterfalls and cosy valleys. The Sněžka snow mountain is a whopping 1602 metres high, while the Mumlava waterfall invites you to take a dip. Take the kids up to the forest tower at Janske Lazne, which is both educational and offers a pleasant walk in the forest and incredible views at the top. The Krkonose Mountains are home to several small towns and, in addition to Janske Lazne, Spindleruv Mlyn is home to the Labska Dam, where you can try a ride on the cable car, visit St Francis' Chapel or get up to speed on the Bobova Draha toboggan run down the mountainside. In Harrachov you can visit a glassworks/microbrewery and taste Czech beer. In the town of Vrchlabi you can see the castle of the same name and cosy castle garden. See more
